What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
• Review, inspect, and process new street additions and county bond projects
• Ensure compliance with permits and VDOT standards for private and commercial entrance permits
• Communicate with event coordinators regarding lane and road closures, providing technical guidance
• Serve as a technical resource for inspectors, contractors, and agency management
• Issue and process land use permit applications and inspect related work for compliance

What is Required (Qualifications):
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain required certifications within specified timeframes
• Skill in using computers and software applications
• Knowledge of land use permitting processes and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, construction plans, and property plats

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
• Certifications in Soils and Aggregate, Asphalt Concrete, Hydraulic Cement Concrete, and Erosion and Sediment Control
• Experience in highway construction and roadway maintenance
• Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge Standards and Access Management Regulations
• Background in Civil Engineering or a related field
